Kingston upon Thames — Royal History, Riverside Charm & Easy London Access

Kingston upon Thames is one of London’s most characterful and liveable towns — a Royal Borough with a long history, a thriving independent retail and dining scene, and a beautiful riverside setting on the Thames. The town centre is a short walk from The Hermes, offering markets, boutiques, restaurants, and cafés alongside the historic Guildhall and the Coronation Stone — where seven Saxon kings were crowned. Hampton Court Palace — one of England’s most magnificent royal palaces — is minutes away by road or river. Richmond Park, with its famous deer herds, is within easy reach. The Thames Pathway connects Kingston to Richmond, Twickenham, and beyond.

Seven Room Types — Each with Heritage Character and Modern Comfort

Every room at The Hermes Hotel features a Hypnos bed (Deluxe King, Superior King, and King configurations), Nespresso machine, Smart TV, ensuite shower, hairdryer, and sustainable toiletries. Choose from Deluxe King Room, Superior King Room, King Room, King Room with Garden View, Deluxe Loft (with angled beams and a shared garden), Deluxe Family Suite (sleeps four), or Family Room (sleeps four). Dog-friendly King Rooms with Garden View welcome well-behaved dogs in the landscaped gardens.

Heritage, Gardens & a Riverside Setting

The staff was very responsive, the neighborhood was beautiful with shop and restaurants nearby and plenty of buses and train options to get to other parts of London, including Heathrow. I will stay here again.

Overall the hotel was very good, with ample space and a roomy washbasin. The only drawback was the distance to central London.
