The capital is full of excellent plant-based restaurants celebrating the most sustainable month of the year.

November is arguably the most important month of the year – no, it’s not our birthday, it’s World Vegan Month! Celebrating the most sustainable, delicious plant-based way to eat, the whole of November will see restaurants across the capital celebrating being vegan. From old restaurants adding great vegan menu items to brand new eateries focused on yummy plant-based dishes, you’re guaranteed to find something tasty and plant-based to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

London is one of the most vegan-friendly cities in the world, so even though November is a month of celebration, all of these great food stops serve vegan dishes year-round, so that no matter when you’re visiting London, you’ll always know there’s plenty of guilt-free, plant-based snacks around.

The Athenian

The Athenian is one of the loveliest Greek restaurants in London with outlets across the city. Mediterranean cuisine is already famous for being super healthy, with lots of great salad dishes and fresh ingredients.

One of the best places to try is their Belgravia restaurant which serves delicious Mediterranean cuisine. They have a huge range of plant-based options whether you’re looking to grab a snack or a sit-down meal.

Some of the best include their plant-based halloumi wrap which is great for on the go, or alternatively check out their vegan gyros and ‘This Isn’t Chicken’ nuggets, which will fill you up for the entire day, guilt-free.

Farmacy

Farmacy is arguably one of the most famous all-round organic, sustainable restaurants in all of London. Their excellent food is not only vegan, but free from refined sugars, dairy, chemicals and other bad ingredients, so you can leave not only feeling satisfied but healthy too.

All of their dishes are made with super fresh ingredients grown either on their own biodynamic British farm in Kent or by local, organic producers. The falafel waffle with puffed chickpeas is one of the tastiest dishes on the menu, or if you’re searching for a filling, vegan breakfast you can opt for their buckwheat pancakes or Farmacy Benedict, with portobello mushrooms and guacamole.

BoxPark

Can’t quite decide what to eat? It may be best to head somewhere you’ll have lots of vegan options at your fingertips. BoxPark regularly celebrates World Vegan Month year after year at all three of its locations. BoxPark Wembley is one of the liveliest locations, with fun games, music and events happening throughout November. BoxPark is made up of many different food outlets, with tons of vegan options.

For delicious plant-based burgers, check out Clean Kitchen Club or Smoky Boys, or if you’re feeling something spicy choose from Brazilian food at Ipanema barbecue, or vegan Indian street food at Spice Shack. Make sure to leave room for dessert at Longboys, who do sugary vegan donuts, while Boki also does refreshing smoothies, juices and shakes. If you can’t decide on just one, take a friend and try them all!

Pollen Street Social

For a classy sit-down plant-based meal, head over to the pretty neighbourhood of Mayfair to this popular Michelin starred restaurant that also happens to serve amazing vegan tasting menus alongside its everyday repertoire. Choose from the four-course lunch menu or longer eight course tasting menu for plant-based dishes such as squash and pumpkin ravioli with black truffle, and tofu ganache with mango and bergamot for dessert.

Michelin star chef Jason Atherton has a huge following of devoted vegan fans, due to using only the freshest local ingredients. If you’re looking to splash out for a special occasion or just want to treat yourself to one of the best vegan meals in London in November, you certainly won’t be disappointed at Pollen Street Social.

Palm Court at The Langham

If you’re not feeling a full vegan meal, want to try something quintessentially British or have simply already made your way through all the great vegan restaurants we’ve already mentioned, an afternoon tea could be the perfect light bite for you. At the famous Langham Hotel’s pretty Palm Court, you can treat a guest to their lovely vegan afternoon tea.

All of the classics you’d normally find in an afternoon tea are included with a plant-based twist, such as finger sandwiches with artichoke and rocket, and jackfruit with garam masala. Sweet treats include a caramelised baguette, strawberry sorbet and lemon cake with meringues. Top it off with a glass of bubbly and you’ll have the best British, vegan afternoon possible in London.
